Barbra Streisand: Live at the Bon Soir, slated initially as his debut album – will be released on November 4
Barbra Streisand is back, and she’s blessing fans with new music this fall.
On Friday, the Grammy winner announced that he would release an album titled “Live at the Bon Soir” on November 4. He also released the song “Cry Me a River ” to mark the exciting news.”
Live at Bon Soir will take fans back to Streisand, 80. As it was initially scheduled to be his debut album. After sign with Columbia Records in 1962. He recorded the songs at a small Greenwich Village nightclub in 1999. the same one.
“I had never been to a nightclub until I sang in one of the nightclubs,” the singer said in the liner notes. “I sang and won two songs in a talent contest at a small club called The Lion. Which got me hired at a fancier dinner club called Bon Soir, with a proper stage and spotlights.”
He continued: The noise that started with Bon Soir resulted in a deal with Columbia Records in 1962. The beginning of a long collaboration that continues to this day. The original plan for my first album was to record it in a club, and those early tapes were kept in my vault for six decades. I’m excited to finally introduce them to the world and share. What could become my debut album, Live at the Bon Soir.”
Now the album contains 24 songs and is a compilation of songs that have never been released.
This release also marks the label’s 60th anniversary. In addition to the digital version, Streisand will release a CD version with a 32-page booklet containing Streisand’s liner notes and vinyl.
The record followed the release of his album Release Me 2 in 2021. When he first announced the album, he released a collaboration with Willie Nelson called I’d Want It to Be You, which was recorded in 2014.
