Adam Zimmer was found dead at Bengals assistant coach Minnesota home after local police officers conducted a welfare check Monday
Cincinnati Bengals assistant coach Adam Zimmer has died. He is 38 years old. According to USA Today, the NFL team announced the defeat in a statement Tuesday. “The Bengals are saddened by the bad news about team offensive analyst Adam Zimmer,” he said.
The Cincinnati Bengals did not immediately respond to news request for comment.
The statement included a message from team owner Mike Brown.
Regarding Zimmer and his father’s story, longtime NFL coach Mike Zimmer Brown said, “Our organization has had the honor of knowing and working with the Zimmer family for 15 years. We greatly respect Mike and Adam and are saddened by this tragic news.
“Mike and Adam are more to us than coaches – they are friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Zimmer family at this time.” According to ESPN, the Mendota Heights Police Department is conducting a welfare check on Adam, who lives in Minnesota, Police Chief Wayne Wegener Jr. said.
He was already dead when police arrived in Zimmer Monday Wegener said authorities were “not investigating this as a suspicious death” and that the Hennepin County Examiner would make a decision and release the cause of death.
MHPD did not immediately respond to news request for comment.
Adam’s brother and Mike’s daughter, Corey Zimmer White, also shared a heartbreaking post about the loss via Instagram.
“I can’t believe I’m writing this. I lost my sister yesterday. Kindest, sweetest, family loving, sports-obsessed soul,” she wrote alongside a series of unique photos of Adam over the years. “I felt the pain once, but it’s been a long time, and I didn’t know I could feel it again.”
She continued, “My heart is broken, and it hurts so much. I don’t know how to reconcile being the mother of 1 year old twins and the sadness of losing my brother so suddenly. I am so lost, so overwhelmed, so heartbroken.”
