“It’s just one of the beautiful stories I’ve ever told,” Betsy Wolff told the news about the new musical, which premieres Thursday night on Broadway.

After back-to-back Broadway and Off-Broadway performances before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the Great White Way, Wolfe, 40. Returned to the New York stage at & Juliet, the new pop sound that turned Shakespeare into pop by Radio hits by composer Max Martin.
In exclusive photos for news, Wolfe takes us behind the scenes as she prepares for Thursday night’s star-stud event. Which will see Chris Martin, Simon Cowell, JC Chase, Annie Murphy, Julianne Hough, Lea DeLaria, Cody Rigsby, also Meena Harris participating. And much more.
And her style comes in for the kill. Wolff wore a metallic, fully embellished gown with colourful sequins and beading from Shaheen’s ’13 Cucculelli evening wear collection. The design, which took 2,327 hours to complete in intricate hand embroidery. Features side cuts and a fluted skirt cover with layers of silk chiffon and silk georgette. Wolf teamed up the look with matching gloves, court shoes from Jessica Rich Collection, also jewellery from Versani, NY.
“I’ve always loved something totally unexpected,” she told news about her appearance.
Ahead of the premiere, Wolfe explained that he chose between “three different ensembles” for the premiere to fit and embody the feel of Shakespeare & Juliet, inspired by today’s pop sensibilities.
“I’m not playing!” He joke, noting that he even turned a dressing room into the Stephen Sondheim Theater on Broadway to capture the show’s feel.
“I have the coolest locker room in locker room history,” he said. “It just seemed crazy. People came in also were like, ‘What is this?!’ I literally move like we’ve been running for 20 years.”
She explains: “I have the blackwash wallpaper, I have the carpet tiles, I have the antique sofas, I have the feather lamps. I mean it looks like a boudoir. It looks completely transformed. Waiting for my pink throne. My pink throne has yet to come, but it’s here!”
