The Voice host thanked his doctor, Andrew Hecht, and the medical team at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York for “all the selfless miracles they perform daily for so many people in need.”
“I am very grateful. Next is the road to recovery. I am also like Tiger; I plan to get a master’s degree within two years.”
TV presenter Jason Kennedy encouraged Daley in the comments section: “Post bunker photos in 2 weeks!”
According to the USC Spine Center, anterior lumbar interbody fusion surgery is a procedure in which the disc is removed also replaced with a bone or metal spacer.
In July, Daley had his first back surgery to help with “chronic low back pain.”
Daley injured his back in a snowmobile crash in the 1990s, resulting in a T12 compression fracture. Today reports, and he’s struggled with increasing pain ever since.
“I feel better, and I’m glad I did,” he said after today’s surgery.
Daley said he hopes sharing his story will help others who may be going through the same pain.
“I hope this helps some people because there is a new technology that helps me with acute pain,” said the former MTV VJ.
