“The Tomorrow War” will premiere on July 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
Actor Chris Pratt returns to the sci-fi action drama “The Tomorrow War,” which he also executive produces. He described the film as a second chance story.
“This is a second chance story. Dan (his character in the film) is a man who feels always destined to do things for a second chance. Dan is a guy who feels same he’s always been written for him,” said Pratt. But, he added, “At one point, we all wonder if the life we live isn’t the way it should be.” To add emotional nuance and depth to the characters, Pratt adds elements of his personal life.
“As you can see in the movie, Dan has a very complicated relationship with his father, and I feel like I can add my own experience,” he said, adding, “Although my situation and Dan’s situation are very different, there are some aspects of this character that are different. Again, I get from my own experience.”
In “Tomorrow’s War,” this memory is stunned when, beginning in 2051, a group of time travelers arrives to send an emergency message. The only chance of survival is for soldiers and civilians to be transported from the present to the future and join the battle.
Among the recruits were a high school teacher and family head, Dan Forrester. Determined to save the world for his little daughter, Dan reunites with a brilliant scientist and his astonished father. Directed by Chris McKay, The Tomorrow War will premiere on July 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
