“Being in Erica Girardi body physically sucks,” Krystal Kung Minkoff told RHOBH while opening up about her ongoing eating disorder.
Crystal Kung Minkoff isn’t afraid to come clean on Wednesday’s episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
In Wednesday’s episode, Crystal Kung Minkoff opened up about her struggle with an eating disorder after posting about it on Instagram.
An honest conversation initially took place between Diana Jenkins, Kyle Richards. And Crystal after a fundraising lunch at Kyle’s house for My Hand In Yours in support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. (The shopping and retail company that raised money for the hospital was founded by Kyle’s longtime friend and Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis.)
Asked by Kyle, 53, if the eating disorder is about control or appearance. Crystal, 39, said, “I think it must be controlled. I don’t think it’s visible. It’s more of a hunch.”
As the episode was filmed over the holidays. Crystal – who has previously opened up about her eating disorder – explained how this particular time of year can be a trigger for her.
When Kyle asked if he overate, Krystal answered emphatically no. “I don’t overeat,” he said.
Kyle then asked if he threw up after eating. Which Krystal said made him very uncomfortable because Kyle was asking “tough questions.” Kyle replY that he was only asking because he knew. In a throwback to the 2018 episode, Kyle admitted to suffering from his struggles with anorexia, noting how he dropped to 99 pounds.
In his confession, he added that people don’t reveal these things to family or friends on social media. “So Krystal, posting this on social media is like a cry for help to me,” she reasoned.
Krystal explained that her eating disorder is a physical feeling of “overeating” and “obsession” with whatever she eats. In confession, she tearfully shared more, revealing how her eating disorder start when she was 11 years old. Being big and feeling big and feeling different as a minority causes their problems. She added that the scariest part about it was her fear of passing the eating disorder on to her children.
