The race to the metaverse begins
To build a presence on Metaversum, Facebook wants to employ 10,000 employees in the European Union over the next five years.
Defined as an online world when people can play, do business, and communicate in a virtual environment. Typically using a VR headset, the Metaverse is tout as the next major technological advancement. The Metaverse have the potential to open up access to new creative, social and economic opportunities.

The social platform is currently embroiled in a series of scandals thanks to whistleblower Francis Haugen. Who has shown that the company relies on growth over security.
Although, as the Facebook Post puts it, “no company will ever own and manage the Metaverse. It has a reputation for buying up competitors. However, they firmly believe that the metaverse will “encourage competition” and “support a thriving digital economy”.
