Ford raises the cost of the Mustang Mach-E electric car by $8,475 due to a “significant” increase in battery costs.
Ford raises Motor raised the entry price of the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover by more than $8,000 on some models as it reopened the order book for the 2023 model year.

The Mach-E is the new electric vehicle to background a price spike as the cost of raw materials for electric vehicle batteries has doubled during the coronavirus pandemic.
Starting prices for the 2023 Mustang Mach-E range from approximately $47,000 to $70,000. Increasing from around $44,000 to $62,000 for the 2022 imitation year.
Prices do not include taxes and shipping/shipping charges.
Earlier this month, Ford also raised the entry price for the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck by between $6,000 and $8,500, counting on the model. Automakers cited similar reasons for this increase. Particularly related to commodities such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel used in vehicle batteries. Other automakers, adding General Motors, Rivian, Lucid, and Tesla, have significantly raised the prices of their newest electric vehicles.
In addition to the new pricing, Ford has changed options and expanded capabilities on some Mach-E models. Additionally, shipping costs for the Mach-E will increase by $200 to $1,300 for all models.
Ford said higher prices for new orders would take effect from Tuesday when order banks reopen.
The company said customers with unplanned 2022 model year orders will receive a “private offer” to correct to a 2023 model year vehicle. It was not immediately clear what price this customer would be offered.
