Joy Behar’s stylish comeback comes a month after her 80th birthday.
Joy Behar gave them something to talk about.
On Thursday’s episode of The View, the old talk show host, 80, wore the same brown tan suit he wore 18 years ago. (The reason it’s still in her closet? It’s still “fun,” she explains—not to mention she’s a designer. “We all have that little label bitch inside of us!” she jokes.)
A side-by-side photo shared on the event’s Instagram shows the comedian wearing the costume in 2004 and 2022.
The only change is Behar’s shoes, with the star ditching her turquoise slip-on sandals (jokingly referred to as “hanging out” by her friend Ana Navarro) for a comfortable pair of black heels.
“I thought it was the suit you stole from my closet because now Joy is stealing my clothes!” said Navarro. “But I want to ask, are you feeling better today or 20 years ago?”
While Sunny Hostin was amazed that her co-hosts looked “exactly the same”, Behar disagreed, “I look younger.”
That sounds a bit more annoying to me,’ he thought. “I’ve always been a little grumpy; that’s my personality. I think negativity is fun, to be honest. Positivity isn’t funny.” The New York native celebrated his 80th birthday with his co-host on The View in October.
The episode featured messages from famous friends of Behar – including President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, Jimmy Kimmel, Larry David and Sarah Silverman. All of them paid a heartfelt tribute to the star.
Behar is careful while partying with his friends.
“You know, it’s like 80, okay! Gloria Steinem famously said, ‘This is what 40 looks like,’ so I followed Gloria,” she said. “Judy Tenuta died last week – she was an amazing and funny comedian. At 72 she has [ovary cancer]. It’s an honor to be here.” And like a suit in his closet, I expect Behar to be staying for a while. He revealed to news outlets last month that he has no plans to slow down.
