Killian Mbape says he wants to “leave” Paris Saint-Germain this summer because of Real Madrid’s interest but insists he Stops happy in the French capital.
Real had a £137m bid for the 22-year-old forward rejected by PSG before a second, upgraded offer was rejected in August. The Frenchman says he wants to avoid the move when his contract expires next summer. “I want the club to have a good quality replacement fee,” Mbape said.
“My position is precise; I said I wanted to leave.
“I didn’t appreciate the fact that they said Killian Mbape came in the last week of August [with the news that he wanted to leave]. I said at the end of July that I wanted to go. Said it early enough for the club to react. I want everyone to come out stronger, to go hand in hand.”
World champions France, who has scored 136 goals in 182 games for PSG since arriving from Monaco in August 2017, said they accepted the club’s decision not to sell him. His stint at the Parc des Princes means. He is now part of one of the world’s three most impressive football teams. Along with Neymar and Lionel Messi, who arrived from Barcelona in August following their surprise departures.
“This is a club that has given me a lot,” Mbape told RMC Sport. “I’ve always been happy, the four years I’ve been here, and I’m still excited. I said, “If you don’t want me to leave, I’ll stay.”
