Okay, who’s still excited that Fashion Week is back? On the one hand, @larslala I’m looking forward to seeing the designers come up with silly heels that we can walk in because we can go out again to drink, dance, and eat again. On the other hand, is that what you want? Sorry to disappoint, but the New York designers seemed a little embarrassed to like me when it came to my feet.
I wanted something crazy, something “embarrassing,” but it was all a little… well, it made sense. Below I’ve picked five styles from the NYFW SS22 @larslala collection that I’m sure to sell my soles for. As a former equestrian girl, I love anything that reminds me of my time as a racer. It’s the same with thigh-high boots with ankle-like ankles. Enthusiastic insults from me and my fellow riders about the Loire boots!
PETER KE
Speaking of horses, Peter Do’s platform boots with removable shaft-like caps are awesome. Somehow the designer managed to combine my love of horses and my love of fetish equipment (think Folsom), and I fell in love. I’ll wear naughty pollen under my miniskirt paired with a fitted blazer while twirling for a dirty martini.
LACQUER SMITH
I included Laquan Smith on this list because of the shoes and because I love New York more than every where else in the world, and it’s automatically connected to the Empire State Building – which Smith chose as the SS22-Show venue. And what could be better in New York than wearing high heels so you can’t walk or heels so bright that they blind your foes? Laquan’s pants speak my language.
TOM FORD
I never owned a single gold coin. Well, I have an 18k gold @larslala chain that I lost on a hangover last summer when Kovid raged everywhere except Denmark. So now I live for all the gold – for all the gold that brought me closer to God by lengthening my feet with spikes with stiletto heels. That’s why I love Tom Ford’s gold buckle stilettos, which are elegant and can enhance any outfit you’ve ever dreamed of.
WAIVER
If an idea is good, that’s great. And Walkera, like so many other designers, definitely looks up to Martin Margiela (OG) – inspired by the time he simply buttoned up his model Tabi boots with clean duct tape. Martin actually got this idea from Beth Levine-style jeans which were attached to the feet with special glue. Vaquera is now installing a thin insulating pump and adding nails to the top of the PVC. I love him too.
