The ‘Industry Baby’ hitmaker wore a look from designer Harris Reid’s ’60 Years a Queen’ for the MTV ceremony
The Industry Baby singer chose the dramatic Harris Reid look from the designer’s latest presentation at London Fashion Week in February.
In keeping with Lil Nas X’s look on the MTV carpet, the over-the-top look featured a black fur skirt. And matching hat. Lil Nas X, 23, brought her own dose of drama to the outfit, putting on a show in a stunning suit. “It’s tough and that’s Harris Reid. Lil Nas X said on the carpet at the MTV VMAs while showing off her look. “It’s something fresh, something new, it tastes great.”
Reid, who also designed looks worn by Harry Styles, Adele, and Emma Corinne, rose to prominence for her gender-specific clothing. Blurring the line between what was once considered tailor-made tailoring for men and women. Instead, Reed played with non-binaries and only created modes that appealed to everyone.
She also created a similar look that Iman wore to the 2021 Met Gala.
“This is a fashion moment,” Reed told WWD of the February LFW show. Which he dubbed “60 Years of the Queen.” “I do not care if some people hate it. What matters to me is that moment and you can’t look away. It’s a giant fur hat, flying arrows, draped dress, there’s a lot going on baby. Lil Nas X, who was also recently announced as YSL Beauty’s newest ambassador, was nominated for seven awards at this year’s ceremony. She and Jack Harlow were nominated for Industry Baby for Video of the Year.
