Pistol Stars Maizie Williams and Tallulah Riley speak EXCLUSIVELY to HL about essential women in the punk movement, how fashion influenced them, and more… Pistol is about the rise of the Sex Pistols and the punk movement in the ’70s. Two women played a huge role. Important in strengthening this breakthrough era. In the new FX series, Tallulah Riley and Macy Williams play Vivienne Westwood and Jordan (aka Pamela Rook).
HollywoodLife talks EXCLUSIVELY Maizie Williams to actresses about collaborations between fashion designers and their inspiration.
“I think Jordan is very expressive. He dressed in a very new, exciting, and exciting way at the time, so the two forces came together,” Macy told HollywoodLife in a recent press release. “I think Jordan is almost like the spokesperson for the Vivienne movement before the Pistols. Then the Pistols amplify the music behind them and the message. But I think for a long time, Jordan just embodied everything Vivienne wanted to create, and that was a moving canvas. The two worked together and had a relationship until [his death]. “
In the 1970s, Vivienne ran a boutique called SEX on Kings Road. “I was not aware of Vivienne Westwood’s involvement in the punk movement before doing the show. I had no idea that she created the punk aesthetic, the needle, and the anarchy symbol. She designed the symbol of anarchy. That’s what she did,” said Tallulah. Tallulah notes that Jordan is a “big attraction” for Vivien’s store. “Everyone wanted to go to SEX to see Jordan.
He was a supermodel at the time, and that was a special move,” added Tallulah.
For eight seasons, Macy played Arya Stark on the HBO series Game of Thrones. Macy grew up on the show enjoying the role of Jordan and treading uncharted territory in his career. “I felt like I was a completely new person, and everything I was learning about myself, my body, or my insecurities felt like they were melting away,” Macy told HollywoodLife. “I can make someone completely new. It was exciting, and I think it’s something I’d like to try and pick up with the other characters I play with.
