Meta has rolled out a significant update to its Accounts Center, the centralized hub for managing all Meta-related profiles and settings. The platform now extends beyond Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp to include Threads profiles, Meta AI, Ray-Ban smart glasses, and Quest headsets — bringing all Meta products under one unified login system.
Users’ existing account details will migrate automatically, requiring no manual setup. Meta says the day-to-day experience within individual apps will remain unchanged, but account management will become considerably more streamlined.
Simplified Security Across All Apps
One of the most notable additions is expanded passkey support. Previously limited to Facebook and Messenger, passkeys — which allow login via fingerprint, facial recognition, or a device PIN — now work on Instagram as well, with more apps set to follow. WhatsApp maintains its own independent security tier, though users can opt into the unified Accounts Center if they prefer consolidated control.
A Useful Tool for Parents
The update also brings meaningful improvements for families. Through the Family Center dashboard, parents can now oversee teens’ supervised accounts across Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Meta Horizon from a single interface, eliminating the need to switch between apps. Meta indicated it plans to continue improving these parental supervision tools.
Additionally, setting up new devices has been made faster, as login credentials are shared across apps by default. A dedicated section within the Accounts Center also lets users control how their data is shared between Meta’s various platforms, offering greater transparency and control in one place.
