The country Morgan Wallen artist had to take to the stage in Las Vegas for her first appearance at a major awards ceremony since she was caught on camera using a racial slur.

Wallen’s addition to the band comes a year after he was ban from the Billboard Music Awards following backlash from a February 2021 video in which he could hear screams of N’s and another swearing.

BBMA producer MRC Live & Alternative said the decision to book Wallen for the 2022 event came after extensive internal discussions. “We reject discrimination, harassment, also racism of any kind,” the MRC said in a statement from The Hollywood Reporter. “We believe in ministering everyone with dignity and respect. After in-depth review and discussion internally and with the artist team. During which we discovered a proven and ongoing affirmation to meaningful work and outreach. We have an invitation to participate in the event this year’s spoken show.
