Olivia Rodrigo celebrates ‘Sour’ birthday and reflects on how ‘Forever Changed My Life’ album

Olivia Rodrigo echoes on the success of her big debut album Sour.

The 19-year-old singer-songwriter Billboard’s “Woman of the Year” for 2022 took to social media on Saturday (May 21) to celebrate the first anniversary of Sour. Which was released last May due Geffen Records/Interscope Geffen A&M (IGA).

“My first album SOUR Olivia Rodrigo was released a year ago today. I can not arrange into words how much this album means to me and how grateful. I am to have the privilege of doing it and seeing it in the world,” Rodrigo wrote on Instagram.

The singer’s release includes a gallery of photos and videos from last year. Including images of her manuscript, footage from her many Grammys, screenshots of text messages, and more. He later thanked producer Dan Nigro for co-writing and producing his breakthrough single “Drivers License.”

“Thanks to @dan_nigro for being successful with me and believing in me more than anyone else,” added the Grammy winner. “And thank you to everyone who has accepted my plea for 17 years and changed my life forever.”

Sour spent 5 weeks atop the weekly Billboard 200 from June to July 2021, posting a pair of Hot 100 No. 1 in “SIM” and “Both 4 U”. The set ranked 2nd on the Billboard 200 albums in late 2021. While “Good” and “License” ranked 5th and 8th, respectively, on the Hot 100 songs at the end of the year.

Rodrigo is also #1 on the Billboard charts for 2021 Hot 100 Artist, Hot 100 Songwriter. Billboard Global 200 Artist, Streaming Song Artist, Airplay Pop Artist, and Billboard Canadian Hot 100 Artist.
