On Pinterest, YouTubers Share Their Life Lessons.
We look behind the scenes as Adebayo Bolaji, Di Petsa, Soph Builds Nails, and Lozeak offer advice, tips on self-care, and more for their younger selves.
If the pandemic has taught them one thing, it is the importance of community. This is especially relevant when stepping out of our shells after blocking and looking for the pieces of creativity that will move us forward in the world of IRL.
Luckily, Pinterest has us sorted. The new Idea Pin setting allows developers to share videos. Multiple images, in-depth descriptions, and easy-to-use templates via a profile bubble. That appears at the top of a dedicated feed. Each clip can be up too 60 seconds long, while you can add up to 20 frames to each Idea series. The best part? They don’t expire after 24 hours.
“Idea Pins are an evolution of Story Pins, with a new name to better match. The uniqueness of the product allowing content creators to share long-lived ideas rather than short-lived stories,” says Pinterest. “Creators will have a variety of new publishing tools, including early video features. New editing tools, and updates to make Idea Pins easier and more creative.”
Pinterest also offers new creative tools for editing your videos, from stickers to language and music options. Their is also an option to add a “Details Page” where the author can add additional explanations or explanations. Please note product information, styling tips, and recipes. Below, artist Adebayo Bolagi, nail artist Soph Builds Nails, musician Lozeac, and fashion designer Di Petsa test these ideas by sharing.
Their life lessons, from the advice they would give their children to how to care for themselves.
Adebayo Bolagi is a London-based artist, director, and writer known for his dynamic large-format canvases that explore individuals in society, from sexuality to race and religion.
Bolaji advises his younger self on his ideas. “Don’t ignore the feeling you have when you want to create something. He says, adding, “When you wake up and think that everyone is watching you. Pay attention to what you think. Your default mode is to impress someone, and trying to impress others will prevent you from hearing what your own voice has to say. This is how this stressful behavior emerges.
“I continue to listen and watch movies like you do because I have seen many films that provide information about my practice and creative work,” he said.
IN PECA, FASHION DESIGN
With fans like FKA twigs and Kylie Jenner, Greek designer Dimitra Peca is best known for his transparent fabrics that look like they’ve been soaked in water. The new AW21 collection from London-based creative face I Am My Mother first explored. And de-stigmatized bodily fluids for women with the 2018 CSM collection and delved deeper into safety and protection, with flowing silk gowns with floor pillars and velvet corsets.
To pin her idea, the 28-year-old highlighted five things she wants to achieve before she turns 30. This also includes cultivating your garden. “That’s something I’ve always wanted to do. But I always have an excuse because of the weather or where I live. But I think I would be thrilled if I had my garden,” he explained.
