Pinterest Rolls Out Powerful AI Advertising and Shopping Assistants

Automated Solutions for Advertisers

For marketers, the centerpiece of the update is a new “business assistant” integrated directly into Pinterest Ads Manager. Currently in a closed beta with select ad partners, this generative AI companion acts as a digital collaborator, pulling platform insights to provide data-backed suggestions, optimization charts, and automated performance recommendations. Alongside this assistant, Pinterest launched support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a backend framework that allows companies to seamlessly connect their proprietary corporate AI chatbots and agentic tools directly with Pinterest’s advertising data.

Conversational Shopping Beyond the Feed

On the consumer side, the platform is breaking away from the traditional visual grid with the introduction of a standalone experimental application called “Ask Pinterest.” Currently rolling out exclusively in the United States, the app handles complex, multi-step shopping queries that a standard single-word search cannot solve. The tool utilizes conversational AI memory across browsing sessions to assist shoppers with contextual, budget-conscious tasks, such as slowly furnishing a room over time, selecting personalized gifts, or planning themed dinner parties.
