The ex-wife of the John Gray Adventures star said the family needed a miracle. After her husband was hospitalized last week.
Reverend John Gray of Relentless Church is in critical condition after being hospitalized last week with a “severe” pulmonary embolism.
On Sunday, his wife, Aventur Gray, shared an update on her husband’s condition on Instagram. Along with a photo of him holding his hand.
“My family and I needed a miracle. Please keep my husband @realjohngray in your prayers,” she wrote.
Aventur added that the former “John Grey’s Book” star saw a doctor on Thursday after “feeling a little different over the past some weeks.”
“He went to the emergency room Thursday night also was immediately admitted to the CCU [cardiology unit] with a saddle embolism in the pulmonary artery and additional blood clots in the lungs,” he wrote. “PE Pepper is in a position to end his life if released potentially. The weight of the lump is heavy, also only God can withstand it.”
He continued: “He is currently in intensive care also based on the CT scan and echo. We will need two sets of surgeries in the next 24 hours due to the stress on the heart. So to put that in perspective, doctors say people are going to hospital dying with this scenario. That’s exactly what he’s doing.”
Adventure said doctors told him, “God must watch over him at night.” But, she added, “He couldn’t move; he couldn’t even get up to go to the bathroom.”
Aventur ended his post by inviting people to pray for his husband’s recovery.
“God is not finished! I don’t care what CT shows, ECHO, all or one of the tests! God is not finished. Clot must worship my God! That,” he wrote. “I need like many people as possible who believe in the miraculous healing power of Jesus Christ to join me. My family, and our church as we cry out on behalf of John W. Gray III. I waver with God mercilessly!”
According to Healthline, a saddle pulmonary embolism (PE) occurs when “a large blood clot lodges where the main pulmonary artery branches in a Y shape to enter each lung.”
Saddle pulmonary embolism accounts for only two to five percent of all PE cases. According to Healthline, symptoms of the condition include chest pain, difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, also an irregular heartbeat.
