Name That Tune leader, and co-founder of Unify Health talks about his health journey and why he’s feeling better than ever at 65
Nearly two decades after gastric bypass surgery and being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, Randy Jackson feels better than ever.
In the latest issue of news, the TV veteran – who is currently the bandleader on Fox’s hit music show Name. That Tune – talks about travel and his healthy relationship with food over the years.
“It’s a great start. You lose weight fast, but keeping it off is another thing because you get there, and your thoughts are like, ‘Okay, fu. I’m here now. I can start partying and grab some cheesecake.’ ‘ said Jackson, 65, who had gastric bypass surgery in 2003.
A former American Idol judge said she maintained her 114-pound weight loss by eating healthy. Avoiding fast diets, and prioritizing gut health.
“I hate the word diet. I don’t use it anymore. Anyone who loses weight loses weight, and then you start eating and drinking more, and it all comes back. That’s what happen to me,” she said. “I thought, ‘No, I’m not going to spend my life going through this.’

To avoid overeating, Jackson plans to eat five meals a day “fish, some vegetables, and maybe a handful of rice or potatoes” for lunch or dinner. He says and snack on bananas, apples, cheese, or protein bars shakes.
That doesn’t mean he swears by the cutie. “If I feel like I need a piece of candy, I have a little piece, so I don’t have to be like, ‘No, no, no,’ in my mind,” she says, trying to find a balance. “The more you deny yourself, the more confused you’ll be and have 18 candies nonstop at once. Jackson is busier than ever between recording new music, working on your TV show. Running your own food business, and spending time with the Kids.
“I think if I didn’t think things through, I would have gained at least half that weight. If not more,” said Jackson, who weighs more than 350 pounds. during his stay on Idol. “And I’m proud to know that we’ve done something that helps me, helps other people, and eliminates speculation.”
