Sakshi Shivdasani Calls Vada Pav, Trash; Netizens React

Mumbai-based influencer Sakshi Shivdasani is making headlines.

She recently called Vada Pav, ‘trash’ on the podcast. Her unpopular thought has definitely irked Mumbaikars. As vada pav is something which is not just food for Mumbaikars it is an emotion.

Sakshi’s Statement:

On the show ‘Having Said That’, she said, “I think Vada Pav is trash. Like I hate Vada Pav from the bottom of my heart.” The other podcasters quizzed her if she was from Mumbai, to which she replied, “I am.”

Sakshi added, “It’s just nostalgia. There’s no way you think boiled potatoes and bread make sense.”

Netizens’ Reaction:

The video is being widely shared on the internet and her comment didn’t go down well with the netizens. Criticizing her accent, a user wrote, “It doesn’t have to make ‘sense’… It just needs to be tasty and Vada-pav does brilliantly on the taste front! Alas, some people are not made to enjoy it! But the way, in all this, the only trash is that ‘accent’…” Another commented, “Not her fault as she thought boiled potatoes and bread was Vada Pav. She got scammed!”

We agree that it’s her opinion about something but the choice of words is absolutely wrong. Calling food ‘trash’ is unacceptable and unethical as well. Mumbaikars are irked by this opinion of hers. Vada Pav holds a very special place in all Mumbaikars’ hearts as it is their comfort food.
