Shawn Mendes cancels the ‘ground’ world tour and ‘comes back stronger

Shawn Mendes

Shawn Mendes rescheduled some dates on his Wonder: The World Tour earlier this month.

A few weeks after postponing Wonder: The World Tour to improve his mental health. Shawn Mendes has canceled all future scheduled concerts.

The 23-year-old “It’ll Be Okay” hitmaker canceled all remaining tour dates on Wednesday, saying in a statement on Instagram that he should “put his health first.”

“As you know, I’ve had to reschedule the show over the last few weeks because I wasn’t fully prepared for the tension that would be brought back onto the streets,” Mendes wrote. “I started this tour excited to be able to play live again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. But the truth is I was completely unprepared for how difficult the tour was after this time. Mendes said after further discussion with his team and “what an amazing” group of health professionals.

As a result, he decided he needed a more extended break from the streets.

“It became clearer that I needed to take the time, which I personally never took, to get grounded and come back stronger. Unfortunately, I have had to cancel the remainder of my North American and UK/European tour dates,” he wrote. “We hope that after a much-needed rest, I may be able to continue with the remaining appointments, but at this point, I must put my health first. That doesn’t mean I won’t be making new music. And I can’t wait to see you guys on tour in the future.”

I love you all, also thank you so much for supporting me and being there for me on this journey. On July 8, Mendes announced that he would spend the next three weeks of Wonder. The World Tour dates being postponed “until further notice. Saying this time that the tour’s “toll roads and hardships” had pushed him to a “high point”.
