Taraji P. Hanson makes a modern comeback at the BET Awards.
On Sunday Taraji P. Hanson , the 51-year-old Empire star hosted “The Greatest Night of Culture” for the second year in a row and wore 14 different looks throughout the night.
Hanson walked the red carpet in a crystal embroidered Tom Ford gown that sparkled from every direction. The asymmetrical halter dress, featuring a short necklace with reverse straps, was styled by Jason Rembert.
The actress completed the look with disco platform shoes, diamond jewelry from Wempe Juwelier, and metal nails. She styled her hair in a glamorous gel back in a waist-length ponytail. Of course, fashion doesn’t stop there.
During the ceremony, she looked stunning in a mini dress with colorful patterned towels, Giuseppe Zanotti heeled sandals, and chic blonde peas. She also appeared on stage in a form-fitting pink jumpsuit paired with an off-the-shoulder cape. In addition, she wore an all-leather outfit – a red structured dress embellished with lace and teamed with a motorcycle jacket for a different look. Ahead of the awards show, the star of The Color Purple teased her elegant outfit in an exclusive interview with news.
“That’s not even me; it’s the team. You alone. They are very prepared,” he said. “I think it must be more than ten years. We just had Zoom yesterday for the ad, so we’re just putting it together now.”
Hanson also says hosting the BET Awards takes more than style, saying, “You have to be prepared for anything – it’s like live theater. And especially when it’s filmed live, there’s no room for error,” he said the spontaneity that accompanies the role.
