However, Banksy’s exhibitions have sparked controversy and criticism over Banksy’s lack of original art amid his ongoing world tour. Titled “Banksy’s Art: No Limits,” the show was even forced to reimburse visitors for its first Asian stop in Seoul.

No Limits includes: “Over 110 works by the artist, including original art, prints on various materials, photographs, sculptures, and more. Some of his works have even been created, especially for exhibitions reproduced with his stencil technique.

However, the Korea Herald reports that only 27 of the 150 artworks exhibited at the Seoul Show are Banksy’s original works. Unauthorized reproductions include a mural version of Banksy’s Laugh Now.

As a result, there are some misunderstandings wherein the exhibition,” said Park Bong-su, senior manager of the LMPE exhibition organizer. “We create brochures that show which works of art are real.”

“Banksy is an artist who is open to social issues,” they added. “This exhibition aims to convey the artist’s message and make the public realize. That they too can spread a positive influence in the world in their way.”

The show itself has traveled to 11 European countries since it premiered in Istanbul in 2016.

So far, it has attracted around one million visitors.

Since then, LMPE has offered refunds to Banksy fans who wish to cancel their visit. Those in attendance were able to see some of the original works. Including a sculpture from the big Dinsland Banksy project.
