If you haven’t heard of it, Lil Nas X released his long-awaited debut album, Montero, earlier this week, and now it’s all about the emotional process of recording it.
The fact that it’s more than a miracle, although “Old Town Street” remains undeniable, has dominated the album’s hit distribution. Since Nas Satan gave a dance tour in the video for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name). Viral moments, in particular, include the bloodied release of “Satan’s Shoes” (and subsequent legal trouble). As well as his tearing up of lederhosen on SNL and parodies of everything from legal billboards to Turkey Lover Boy album covers, Drake.
In a statement shared over Twitter over the weekend (September 18). The “Industry Baby” rapper got “serious” about what’s going on behind the scenes. “I like to joke around, but seriously, making this album was therapeutic for me,” he wrote.
“I’ve started creating a lot of uncontrollable wounds facing a skeleton (sic) in my closet that I never wanted, struggling inside every day and crying hard,” she added. “Montero is my baby.

In Montero’s series of interviews with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Nas reflected on the album and its path to release. “I think I have always been and am still afraid of being vulnerable,” she said. “Because that’s how the world works when you tell them your darkest secret. The second time someone doesn’t like you, this bullshit gets thrown in your face.”
“Music has saved my whole life, as all artists say, and now I understand,” he continued. “It gave me a way out just to make more sense, to have something I wanted to dedicate to, to have something I loved, to have something I didn’t do for anyone else.”
Of course, Lil Nas X’s journey is very detailed for Montero himself. With lyrics exploring love, loneliness, sexuality, and the music industry in their 15 songs. The record also includes contributions from Doja Cat, Elton John, Jack Harlow, Megan Thee Stallion, and Miley Cyrus.
