Meta’s Threads platform has launched two new posting features aimed at encouraging more content creation and boosting engagement. The updates include automatic separation of lengthy text into multiple linked posts, and animated stickers that users can embed directly into their updates.
Automatic Text Splitting Makes Long-Form Posting Effortless
Previously, users who wanted to share extended thoughts had to either manually break up their text or rely on Threads’ text attachment option. Now, when a user pastes more than 500 characters into the post composer on mobile, Threads automatically splits the content into a series of linked, sequential posts. This removes a key friction point for writers and commentators who want to share longer-form content without worrying about character limits, potentially driving higher volumes of substantive posts on the platform.
The feature is now available to all Threads users globally, making it one of the more broadly accessible updates the platform has rolled out recently.
Animated Stickers Bring Visual Flair to Posts
The second feature — animated stickers — is currently in limited regional testing. Users can access them by tapping blank space in the post composer and selecting “Add Sticker.” These GIF-style moving visuals can be applied to both images and text, helping posts stand out in a busy feed.
First spotted by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi back in January, the stickers add a layer of visual dynamism to Threads. However, widespread adoption could make the feature feel cluttered quickly.
Together, these updates signal Threads’ continued push to grow its creator base and deepen user activity on the platform.
