TikTok is rolling out broader access to its Bulletin Boards feature, a new tool designed to help creators and brands share direct updates with their most engaged audience members. The feature, which was first spotted in testing back in June, enables creators to communicate with followers through DM-like messages without relying on traditional in-feed posts.
How Bulletin Boards Work
Bulletin Boards function as a one-to-many messaging option, similar to Instagram’s Broadcast Channels. Creators can publish text, image, and video updates to their audience, while followers can opt-in to receive notifications about new bulletins. This adds another communication channel for creators to keep their fanbase informed about key announcements and updates. The feature is now available through the TikTok app’s inbox interface, accessible via a tappable icon below the creator’s username on their profile.
Getting Started with the Feature
To create a Bulletin Board, eligible creators can navigate to their inbox, tap “Chat,” and select “Create a bulletin board.” They can then customize visibility settings and publish their first bulletin. While TikTok hasn’t disclosed specific eligibility requirements or regional rollout plans, the feature is becoming increasingly accessible across profiles. This expansion aligns with the growing trend of using direct messaging for community engagement rather than relying solely on public feeds, offering creators a more direct way to maintain connections with their most loyal supporters and drive meaningful engagement beyond traditional content formats.
