TikTok is making a strategic move to retain and attract content creators in North America by dramatically increasing subscription revenue sharing. The platform announced that US and Canadian creators can now earn up to 90% of their subscription earnings through enhanced bonus incentives, marking a substantial increase from the 70% maximum offered in other markets.
This announcement comes as TikTok seeks to reassure creators about the platform’s stability following ongoing regulatory concerns in the United States. With the app’s future in America appearing more secure, TikTok is doubling down on creator monetization to strengthen its competitive position.
Enhanced Revenue Structure for North American Market
Starting October 1, 2025, North American creators receive a base 70% revenue share after app store fees, with opportunities to unlock an additional 20% bonus through platform-specific challenges and performance targets. This contrasts with the global structure where creators earn 50% as a base rate, plus a potential 20% performance bonus for reaching milestones like 10,000 followers and 1 million video views monthly.
High Entry Requirements Maintain Quality Standards
To access the subscription program, creators must meet significant thresholds: a minimum of 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views within the past calendar month. These requirements help TikTok filter out spam accounts while ensuring that participating creators have established audiences genuinely interested in exclusive content.
TikTok initially launched subscriptions for Live creators in 2022 and has gradually expanded the program. Last year, the platform extended subscriptions to non-Live creators and introduced multiple pricing tiers, providing diverse monetization options for content producers across different niches and audience sizes.
