Instagram Edits Gets New Fonts and 250+ Sound Effects

nstagram has unveiled a significant update to its Edits video editing app, introducing creative tools designed to enhance content creation and streamline brand collaboration opportunities for creators.

New Creative Options for Video Customization

The platform is rolling out an expanded library of text styles, including a custom font inspired by K-pop sensation Jennie called “ZEN SERIF,” available exclusively on Edits. These new typography options combine fonts, colors, animations, and effects to give creators more flexibility in personalizing their video content. Additionally, the app now features over 250 new sound effect options, including spooky Halloween effects, and allows users to save custom colors by hexcode for consistent branding across projects.

Media Kit Feature Simplifies Creator Partnerships

A significant addition is the media kit-like PDF report feature, enabling creators to formalize and share their account and Reels performance metrics with potential brand partners. This tool streamlines the collaboration process by providing engagement data and key performance statistics in a professional format, making it easier to secure brand deals. YouTube introduced a similar feature earlier this week, indicating a broader industry trend toward creator monetization support.

The updates reinforce Instagram’s commitment to regular Edits improvements, positioning the app as a comprehensive video editing solution. However, industry observers anticipate that Meta may eventually introduce paid features, as the company has previously flagged the potential for subscription fees alongside upcoming AI tools on the platform.

For now, creators have free access to these enhanced capabilities, making it an opportune time to explore how Edits can integrate into their content strategy.
