Paulie Perrett shared on Twitter that she suffered a major stroke last year.
On Friday, the 53-year-old NCIS graduate wrote: “It’s September 2; a year ago I had a severe stroke. Before that I lost so many family and friends that I love and my father and then my cousin Wayne,” Perrett wrote. , along with a video of him. “One more survivor of the traumatic life I’ve given you so far… And still so grateful, still so believing and STILL HERE!”
In the accompanying video, the rainbow-haired actress discusses past health issues, including being hospitalized for a hair dye allergy in 2014 while at NCIS and an incident a year later in which a homeless man assaulted her.
“Yes, it’s me again; how many times have I cheated death?” he said in the video.
“In addition to hair dye allergies, food allergies, [I’m] a victim of domestic violence and rape, I was bombed by a crazy homeless man and nearly died … but I’m still here.”
He ended his message by congratulating his rescue dog and adding that he was so grateful, I’m still here, I feel good, I’ve been through a lot in the last three years…and I’m still thankful. Thank you, you guys who became my friends, thank you.”
In May 2018, Perrette left NCIS after 15 seasons as fan favorite detective Abby Sciuto.
