13-year-old boy sells rare Patriots Mac Jones cards for $100,000
Johnny Stone finds a rare 13-year-old boy card in a box of Panini Prizm Football cards he and his father bought at a local shop. Johnny Stone, a 13-year-old from Ohio, had the reaction of his life when he stumbled upon one of the … sort of New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones cards earlier this month.
According 13-year-old boy to the Akron Beacon Journal, Jones’ rare Black Finite card was found in the Panini Prizm Football card box. Which Johnny opened during a live broadcast on June 3.
“One by one, Mac Jones!” He can be heard screaming in videos posted on his YouTube channel.
Both Johnny and his father, Chad, bought and played cards as part of their Rock Sports Card business. However, the card collector duo soon realized they had something special about the Jones cards.
“When I say it’s a 1 in 20 million chance, I’m not exaggerating,” Chad told News, 46. “They sell boxes, boxes of this product all over the world, and we happen to have a box taken. at a local shop.”
“Johnny’s reaction when he found him went on for five minutes at the top of his voice. God, to hyperventilate, and it was just fun to watch,” he added. After the storm, collectors contacted the couple, and they ended up selling the card for $100,000.
According to the Akron Beacon Journal, the card was sold by a buyer shortly after that for $175,000.
Chad tells news that he uses the Rock Sports Card to teach his son the ins and outs of running a business. He pays for the groceries but shares the profits with his son (70 percent for Chad and 30 percent for Johnny).
“We learn what not to spend, what money to spend, and when to spend,” said Chad. “Sports cards are like the stock market. Have to know when to sell. You have to know when to buy. You have to know when to save it.”
