Pinterest Hits 600 Million Users Amid Strong Q3 Growth

Pinterest has achieved a significant milestone by reaching 600 million monthly active users, marking a gain of 22 million over its last reporting period. The platform also reported a robust 17% year-over-year revenue increase in Q3 2025, reinforcing its position as a leading discovery platform in the social commerce space.

Global Expansion Driving User Growth

The platform’s user expansion spans all regions, with particularly strong momentum in the “Rest of World” category. Brazil and Mexico are experiencing significant growth, offsetting previous losses in Europe where Pinterest had shed 2 million active users in its prior report. However, the U.S. and EU markets remain critical to the platform’s financial performance, generating substantially higher average revenue per user.

AI Tools Powering Discovery and Shopping

Pinterest’s strategic focus on shopping-centric AI tools is reshaping its competitive positioning. Last week, the platform unveiled a new AI assistant that combines visual matching with conversational queries to help users find relevant products. Unlike competitors adding generic AI capabilities, Pinterest’s additions remain tightly integrated with its core discovery use case, enhancing product recommendations through improved search tools.

While Q3 revenue of just over $1 billion represents steady performance, analysts note that Pinterest needs to accelerate monetization per user and expand ad products globally. The platform’s real opportunity lies in integrating direct purchase functionality, transforming it from an online catalog into a comprehensive eCommerce platform.

Pinterest’s trajectory suggests strong Q4 potential, particularly if it successfully bridges the gap between discovery and seamless in-app shopping experiences.
