Didi pays tribute to the late Kim Porter and receives the BET 2022
“Baby girl, Didi pays tribute this is for you,” said Didi before starting the performance of “I’ll Be Missing You” in honor of the late former Kim Porter.
Sean “Didi” Combs will always “miss” the late former Kim Porter.
The 52-year-old Didi pays tribute rapper was honored with the BET 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award in Los Angeles on Sunday. And brought some special shout-out to Porter, who died unexpectedly of pneumonia in 2018 at 47.
After several stellar appearances honoring his career, Didi released an old video of Porter telling him, “Congratulations, Poofy, you’re a star. It’s been a long road from Harlem to Hollywood… you worked so hard, and I have watched you, your damn sweat and tears, and you have arrived.”
A cute home video of her children, son King, 24, and twins Jesse James and D’Lilla Star, 15, is also included in the montage.
Then, before performing “I’ll Be Missing You” with Faith Evans and Maverick City Choir. Didi said, “Baby girl, this is for you.” During the show, Didi exclaims, “I miss you so much, baby.”
Artists who paid tribute to Diddy’s career were Jodeci, Mary J. Blige, The Lox, and Lil’ Kim. Didi also performed “I Need a Girl,” “Pass the Cîroc” with Busta Rhymes, and “Gotta Move On” with Bryson Tiller. After the show ended, Kanye West and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmunds Didi presented the awards. Receiving the honor, Didi said, “I just miss Kim, everyone.”
“Stay connected to God, and He will lead you out,” he said. “I just wanted to thank Kim.
