X Introduces AI-Powered Features and Chat Expansion Plans
Elon Musk has outlined significant upcoming changes to X during recent interviews with Joe Rogan and The All-In Podcast. The platform is rolling out several AI-powered updates designed to enhance user engagement and move closer to Musk’s “everything app” vision, according to the announcements made on November 2, 2025.
Grok Powers New Content Discovery Tool
The company plans to introduce a curated following tab that will leverage Grok AI to highlight the most interesting posts from accounts users follow. This feature aims to solve the problem of missing important content from prolific accounts that dominate traditional feeds. Grok will analyze all posts and intelligently surface relevant content, while users retain access to both the regular Following and For You feeds. The new tab offers users greater control over their feed experience without forcing algorithmic recommendations.
Enhanced Search and Encryption Capabilities
X will soon roll out semantic search functionality, allowing users to ask questions and receive relevant posts in text or visual formats. Additionally, the platform is implementing improved encryption for direct messages through its rebranded XChat service, with a system architecture similar to blockchain technology. Musk acknowledged current encryption vulnerabilities but emphasized the company’s goal to create the “least insecure” messaging system available. A standalone X Chat app will launch separately, aligning with Musk’s broader vision for an integrated ecosystem.
Musk also revealed that Grok will process approximately 100 million daily English posts for sorting and categorization, theoretically improving relevance and engagement through AI analysis. While these developments represent progress toward Musk’s original vision for X, questions remain about mainstream adoption of these features and the platform’s overall trajectory in competing with established social media giants.
