Former NFL defender Adrian Dingle died suddenly at the age of 45.

The cause of death was not released.

Dingle’s fiancé, Amy Bell, took to Instagram on Wednesday to mourn the athlete’s death with a post of Dingle snuggled up with their son Adrian, whom they welcomed in 2018.

He captioned the moment with a broken heart emoji. On Friday, Bell also shares a special video of his 2-year-old daughter, Ava, and little Adrian, slapping the former NFL star in the stomach and laughing together. Bell did not add a caption to the sentimental clip.

“Although Adrian is known for his football achievements, he is more than just football. In the few days since his death, I have been overwhelmed by many stories and memories,” Bell told the news.

“The common theme is her infectious smile also selfless love. I have never met anyone else who could meet someone once and be the best man at a wedding. Her smile will live on through her beautiful babies who love their father unconditionally.”

Dingle’s former teammate at the San Diego Chargers (now the Los Angeles Chargers), Marcellus Wiley, remembers him with a photo of the two posing with their 2000 Chargers Legends counterpart. “RIP to my teammate @AdrianDingle. We were just hanging out laughing, sharing war stories also talking about family. Rest in peace big dog!” the tweet.

News have contacted Wiley but have not received an immediate response.

According to Clemson, Dingle graduated from Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina. He was named defensive MVP of the 1994 North-South High School All-Star Game.
