On Sunday (August 29), Kanye West – now officially called Ye – finally released his tenth studio album, Rachel Wood Plays, after months of delay. Before the tape’s release, Ye held a third trial in Chicago. After two previous parties in Atlanta in July and early August.
At the last event, West controversially unveiled DaBaby – who came out last month with a homophobic bully. And Marilyn Manson – who is accused of sexually assaulting five women. The two also contributed to vocals on the album with its 24th track, “Jail, Pt. 2”.
Now, Evan Rachel Wood Plays – who claims to have endured years of abuse from Manson, her former partner – responds to her collaboration with West. “To the rest of my battered survivors this week,” he wrote on Instagram. “I love you. Don’t give up. The title comes with a video of Wood singing the 1998 New Radicals song “You Get What You Give.”
After first sharing his story in 2016, Wood officially named Manson the culprit in February. Claiming that he “started seducing me when I was a teenager and has abused me horribly for years.” He said he was “brainwashed and manipulated into obedience” but is now “fear of revenge, slander or blackmail.”
That same day, four other women emerged accusing Manson of similar abuse.
Including violence and abuse, sexual and verbal abuse, and accusations that Manson forced his partner to use drugs. Responding to the accusations on Instagram, Manson wrote, “Of course, my art and life have long been a magnet of controversy, but the recent allegations are, to me, a terrible distortion of reality. My intimate relationships have always been based on mutual agreement with like-minded partners. No matter how – and why – others choose to misrepresent the past now, it is the truth. “
