Redknapp Slams Spurs as ‘Devoid of Personality’ After Arsenal Humiliation
Jamie Redknapp launched a scathing attack on his former club Tottenham Hotspur following their humiliating 4-1 defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday. The Sky Sports pundit described Spurs as a “team devoid of personality,” laying bare the scale of the crisis engulfing the club under interim manager Igor Tudor.
Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres both scored twice to hand Arsenal a commanding victory, leaving Spurs just four points above the Premier League relegation zone. Redknapp did not hold back when asked whether the club are in real danger of the drop. “Of course they are, they’ve not won a game in 2026. They’ve been horrendous. It’s a team devoid of personality, they’ve had a personality bypass,” he told presenter Kelly Cates on Sky Sports.
Tudor’s Tactical Gamble Backfires
Interim boss Igor Tudor made a bold tactical decision to deploy a man-to-man marking system against Arsenal, but it proved disastrous. Redknapp acknowledged the club’s injury problems while criticising the approach, noting Tudor must urgently find results while also managing a Champions League campaign. Spurs’ last league victory came on December 28, with just four points collected from nine matches since.
Survival Still Possible, But Form Must Change
Despite his damning assessment, Redknapp believes Tottenham will ultimately avoid relegation. “Do I think they’re going to stay up? Yes, but what am I basing it on? Absolutely nothing,” he admitted. With 11 league games remaining, starting with an away trip to Fulham, Spurs must find character and consistency fast or risk an unprecedented survival battle.
