Jenny Mollen shared her mammogram after Katie Couric sent her a reminder message to get checked out

Jenny Mollen wants her followers to get her annual mammogram.

The mother-of-two, 43, posted videos to her Instagram story on Friday during each step of her mammogram.

“Here to get my yearly mammogram because Katie Couric texted me and said it was time,” Molen explains. “I’m a month late; I’m usually early, in this D—. But it was the scariest day of the year for me; I was always going crazy.’

Couric, 65, announced in a private essay on Wednesday that she had breast cancer. He urges women to get mammograms – something to remind him when he visits his gynecologist.

Molen says in her video that her husband, actor Jason Biggs, drove her to the meeting, as he does every year. But because of the parking lot, he waited in the car. “So you’re coming with me,” Molen says in the video.

Couric commented on the post: “I love you @jennymollen SO proud of you for checking! Xoxo #iscreenyouscreen.’

“I did it, guys. I’m ready,” Molen said in a video that was later posted to accompany his story. “They ripped my breast and then I did an ultrasound too because I have something like dense breasts, so I always do an ultrasound too. I can only recommend an ultrasound.”

She also shared that she had a cyst on her breast, and her doctor said it was normal. Molen has been open with fans about his past health issues. On September 22, the writer and actress shared on social networks that she had suffered two miscarriages.

Molen said he was inspired by Chrissy Teigen, who recounted that losing her baby son, Jack, in September 2020 was a life-saving abortion.

“When @chrissyteigen posted that she had miscarried and was receiving abortion treatment I had to stop and think,” she began. “Jason and I had two miscarriages during our relationship. The first was early in our relationship and the second during the pandemic. Both times I needed a D&C [dilation and curettage] and received abortion care, and both times I’m so grateful to live in a country where where is that possible.”
