Moti Cares Foundation, a charity founded by the Moti Group, collaborates with The Prime Minister of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and The Sihle Zikalala Development Trust. Will provide two million meals and sanitary napkins, blankets, and PPE for the victims most affected by food shortages and supply chain disruptions due to the recent unrest.
Moti Group’s chief adviser Ashruf Kaka said the initiative was launched with a South African vision to help other South Africans regardless of race or religion. To achieve the goal of providing two million meals to families in need, according to the foundation, 70 tons of rice, 30 tons of lentils, and 10,000 Nutriwell boxes, each containing 95 scientifically developed and nutritious foods, such as instant porridge, will be distributed, Vegetable soup, soybean stew, and instant shakes that can feed a person for three months.
In the next few days, the foundation said that food and necessities would be distributed to communities identified by the Sihle Zikalala Development Trust as most in need of local authorities following the recent unrest.
Zikalala said, “This initiative speaks to the power of partnership and what we can achieve when we work together to rebuild our nation. The Sihle Zikalala Development Trust is proud to have played a part in this remarkable achievement in bringing hope to our people. We hope we can build more partnerships to reach more communities in need.”
The foundation said that it had received support from various business organizations, including Gast Engineering and Zodiac Manufacturing, which have donated essential personal protective equipment (PPE) to help spread the word and its goal of delivering two million meals to poor areas.
