X Rolls Out New Feature to Sort Post Likes
X has launched a new feature that enables users to sort their post likes, making it easier to identify and engage with influential accounts and mutual connections. The update, available in the latest version of the X app, represents part of a broader effort to refine the platform’s user experience.
The sorting functionality can be accessed through the “View Activity” option at the bottom right of an expanded post display. Users can tap on the “Liked by” listing and select a new up/down arrow icon to sort likes by “Top” or “Recent.” According to X’s head of product Nikita Bier, the “Top” option prioritizes likes from mutual follows, followed by prominent accounts with larger audiences.
Addressing Viral Post Challenges
This feature particularly benefits users whose posts gain significant traction. When a post accumulates thousands of likes, manually reviewing engagement becomes impractical. The sorting capability allows users to quickly identify opportunities to connect with influential accounts and acknowledge interactions from their network.
Part of Broader Platform Improvements
Bier, who assumed the head of product role approximately three months ago, has initiated several smaller updates addressing long-standing user concerns. His background in developing popular applications brings valuable expertise in user interface design and engagement-driving features.
While X faces competition from growing platforms like Threads, these incremental improvements aim to enhance the experience for its established user base. The sorting feature represents X’s ongoing commitment to refining core functionality and addressing practical user needs in managing social media engagement.
The update is now rolling out to users through the latest X app version.
