Yamal’s Second-Half Strike

Teenager Lamine Yamal doubled the lead seven minutes into the second half. He latched onto a chipped pass and skillfully drove the ball past Unai Simon, solidifying Barcelona’s advantage.

Athletic Club’s Disallowed Goal

Inaki Williams thought he had narrowed the deficit in the final minute of normal time, but his goal was ruled out for offside, denying Athletic Club a chance to mount a late comeback.

Awaiting the Final Opponent

Barcelona will face the winner of the Real Madrid and Mallorca semi-final, set to be played on Thursday, in Sunday’s final. The team looks forward to the challenge as they aim for Super Cup glory.

Registration Drama for New Signings

The semi-final arrived too soon for Barcelona’s new signings, Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, who were granted provisional registration by the Spanish national sports council (CSD) on the same day.

Initially unable to meet La Liga’s wage cap, Barcelona’s appeal to the CSD led to a precautionary measure allowing the duo to be registered temporarily.

With the potential to feature in the final, Olmo and Victor could add fresh energy to the squad as Barcelona vies for the Super Cup title.
