Detmers entered the game with a career rating of 2-4 and a 6.33 ERA. He went 1-1 with a 5.32 ERA in his first five starts this season. This is the first time the Detmers have made seven innings in a match. His previous career-best was six rounds against Houston last season.

The last time without the Angels forward was on July 12, 2019. When Taylor Cole and Felix Pena joined the team in the team’s first home game since the death of early pitcher Tyler Skags against the Seattle Mariners.
