Demi Lovato supports Shawn Mendes after postponing her tour to focus on mental health
Shawn Mendes announced on July 8 that he would be delaying the date of Demi Lovato upcoming concert by three weeks “until further notice” to “take care of myself and my mental health.”

On Thursday, the 29-year-old “SUBSTANCE” singer shared her thoughts on Mendes’ recent announcement. That he was taking time off his Wonder World tour to “take care” of his mental health.
“I know what it’s like to hit the road and not be ready for it. I know what it’s like to be overwhelmed or exhausted,” Lovato said on the Karson & Kennedy Show Audacy. “It’s never a pleasant feeling, and when it comes to mental health, it’s like, ‘Oh my God. So my heart is only for him.”
Lovato continued, “I’ve been thinking about it. It’s been four years since I toured, and I’m at a different age, in a different place in my life…” In a vulnerable statement shared via Instagram on July 8, Mendes said he was heartbroken. “We’ve been touring since I was 15, and to be honest, it’s always been difficult for me to be on the road without friends and family,” he added.

Speaking to Karson & Kennedy, Lovato shared how taking time off during the coronavirus pandemic has given them a different perspective on the little things. “Quarantine has taught me to value free time, sit outside, feed my squirrels in peace, and appreciate simplicity. In addition, I’ve been touring almost every year since I was fifteen.”
Lovato, who is preparing for their world tour in support of their eighth studio album HOLY FVCK, shared how they prioritized their mental health.
