Following the new US Supreme Court decision to overturn Rowe v. Wade – a landmark case defending every state’s abortion options – the 42-year-old actress of Orange Is the New Black reflects on her decision to terminate a previous pregnancy.
“One of the worst days of my life was when I decided in my second trimester to end my pregnancy. Prepon continued, “Everyone has their own story of discovering this medical procedure. And I sympathize with everyone who has faced this impossible decision.”
“I pray for all of us to get through this challenging time and regain our freedom over our bodies.”
The Supreme Court overturned Wade’s rowing on Friday. The 6-to-3 ruling reverses nearly 50 years of legal precedent. Moreover, it will completely change the landscape of women’s reproductive rights. Giving individual countries the power to decide whether to agree to the process.
Following the ruling, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri. And South Dakota have banned abortions after enacting a “trigger ban” that governors imposed following the Supreme Court ruling.
