The milestone arrived more than three decades after United’s first own-goal beneficiary moment, scored by Chelsea’s Steve Clarke back in 1993, highlighting a long pattern of forcing errors out of opponents.

Fernandes Delivers Another Standout Display

Bruno Fernandes was the driving force behind the win, scoring a hat-trick and setting up Bryan Mbeumo for a fourth goal. It marked his second Premier League treble for the club, following one against Leeds United in the 2021-22 season. The performance came shortly after Fernandes was named PFA Player of the Year, making him the first United player to receive the award since Wayne Rooney in 2010. Former United defender Gary Neville praised his impact, calling him the club’s best signing since the Sir Alex Ferguson era and pointing to his consistent goal and assist numbers.
