Meghan Trainor says she lost 60 pounds After being in a “dark place”
The singer shared how she changed her fitness routine and eating habits after struggling with her body image.
Meghan Trainor is happy with her weight loss.
The Meghan Trainor 28-year-old singer recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight Canada and revealed that she lost 60 pounds. In the months following delivery. The Grammy winner and her husband, Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara, 30, welcomed their first child, Riley, in February 2021.
After giving birth by C-section, Trainor admitted: “I’m heavier than before. I’m 200 pounds… I just don’t feel well.”
“I’ve never had stitches, so I was in a very dark place to have this C-cut scar and I wanted to be in a good place for my son,” she told the outlet.
The trainer explained that after struggling with her body image. Riley motivated her to change her fitness routine and eating habits.” So I work out every day and challenge myself. And I said to myself, ‘If I can survive the C-section, he can do anything.’ And I did,” says Trainor. “I was so involved and I saw the pound drop, a pound every week. I thought, ‘I’m struggling’.”
“I learned that I love healthy food, and I learned what portion size means. She adds, noting the mental health benefits she also experiences. “My brain is very happy when I exercise.”
This isn’t the first time the pop star has spoken openly about her relationship with her body since becoming a mother.
“I was covered with scars and stretch marks in new places I didn’t know could be stretch marks. Some things will never go away, and I have to learn to love them,” Trainor said last year. “I immediately started feeling asexual. Even with my husband, the love of my life, bending to the ground, I was walking on, loving my body – I was like, ‘I don’t feel it,'” she said. “It took me a few weeks and therapy sessions to figure out how to think again. My husband loves me, I’m hot and am I okay?’
