Thomas Frank’s £8M Tottenham Payout After Sacking

Thomas Frank has secured an eye-watering £8 million settlement from Tottenham Hotspur after his sacking, covering one year’s salary from his three-year contract. The Danish manager, who joined Spurs last summer for £10 million from Brentford, earned around £650,000 monthly, bringing Tottenham’s total spend on him to over £23 million. Frank’s exit came swiftly after a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle, leaving the team 16th in the Premier League, just five points above relegation, with only two wins in 17 matches.

Frank’s Dismal Run and Immediate Replacement
Frank’s tenure was marked by poor results, including a half-time deficit that proved insurmountable in his final game. Spurs, struggling at the bottom of the form table over recent matches, acted quickly to appoint Igor Tudor as interim manager until the end of the season. The 47-year-old Croatian, with extensive European experience from clubs like Juventus and Marseille, will start training immediately and could become a permanent fixture if he helps avoid relegation.

Tudor’s Challenge and Club’s Future Plans
Tudor, who has held 12 managerial roles in 11 years, faces an uphill battle to revive Spurs’ fortunes. Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham and sporting director Johan Lange plan to explore a broader pool of candidates for the permanent head coach position in the summer. Meanwhile, Frank has no plans to seek new employment until the season ends, allowing him to enjoy his substantial payout while Tottenham fights for survival.
