Madonna’s NYC Pride Bloody Party With People”Proposes $100,000 For LGBTQ+ Organizations.
At the Boom Boom Room star party, the singer debuted with a new video installation and auctioned off three original Polaroids for charity. On Thursday night, the star pride party took place at the Standard Hotel in New York – the highlight of the show two songs by Madonna – helped raise over $100,000 for LGBTQ+ organizations and also confirmed New York nightlife is back on track.
Starting with sets such as Kaytranada, Honey Dijon, The Misshapes, and Eli Escobar, the show brought together thousands of loyal fans who gathered in the hotel’s Boom Boom Room for performances of “Hung Up” and “I Don’s “Search, I Find” by assembled at the top of the bar. (that is when they can enter).
“We’re here to celebrate our LGBTQ+ brothers, support some amazing queer initiatives, open up the NY Pride weekend and announce the return of NYC,” the pop icon wrote before the event. Meanwhile, he celebrated the reunion of the face-to-face meeting that night and said to the guests, “It’s my first time going to a bloody party with people.”
In collaboration with photographers Ricardo Gomez and Sasha Kasuiha, he also streamed a Pride video installation (see via Instagram below). The video, entitled No Fear, Courage, Resist, was shown in Times Square that evening. The three original Polaroids from the photos were auctioned off by Madonna herself, raising $10,000, $25,000, and $25,000 for the Ali Forney Center and the United States home.
Unsurprisingly, Boom Boom Room attracted several celebrities with (or because of) Madonna. Notable attendees include India Moore, Lane Bloom, Zachary Quinto, Harry Neff, Telfar Clemens, Evan Mock of Gossip Girl, and various stars from Drag Race, Violet Chachki, Aquarium, and Gigi Good through 2021, Dazed 100ers Gottmik, and Symone.
