Brazil and Morocco Headline Group C Alongside Scotland and Haiti
Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup brings together four fascinating nations — five-time champions Brazil, semifinalists Morocco, and returning sides Scotland and Haiti. All group matches will be played across American cities including New York, Philadelphia, Miami, Boston, and Atlanta.
Brazil arrive under the management of Carlo Ancelotti, who was appointed after a turbulent qualifying campaign that saw the Seleção finish fifth in South American standings. Star attackers Vinícius Júnior and Raphinha headline the squad, though Rodrygo misses out through injury. Despite Ancelotti’s remarkable Champions League pedigree, this marks his first World Cup as a head coach.
Morocco Riding on Recent Glory
Morocco enter the tournament on the back of their stunning 2022 run, where they became the first African side to reach a World Cup semifinal. Under new coach Mohamed Ouahbi — who replaced the resigned Walid Regragui — the Atlas Lions remain a formidable force. Morocco is also set to co-host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
Scotland End a 28-Year Wait
Scotland return to the World Cup for the first time since 1998, having dramatically sealed qualification with a late win over Denmark. Captain Scott McTominay was central to that victory, and coach Steve Clarke becomes the first manager to lead Scotland in three consecutive major tournaments.
Haiti round out the group, making their first World Cup appearance since 1974. Ranked 83rd globally, they will rely heavily on veteran striker Duckens Nazon, the joint-top scorer in CONCACAF qualifying with six goals.
