TechTarget and Informa Tech Complete Historic Merger
The creation of Informa TechTarget was confirmed on December 2, 2024, following the successful combination of TechTarget with Informa Tech’s digital businesses, part of Informa PLC, a FTSE-50 UK company. The merger creates a powerful B2B data and market access platform positioned to serve the rapidly expanding technology sector. The new company will employ over 2,000 people and serve 7,500 customers worldwide, establishing itself as a major player in the growing B2B digital services landscape.
Strategic Assets and Market Expansion
Informa contributed $350 million of cash and its digital businesses, including Industry Dive, Omdia, NetLine, and specialist tech digital media brands, in exchange for approximately 57% equity stake. TechTarget’s current addressable market is expected to expand by more than 10x through the combination, with the ability to reach 200,000 global customers across technology-enabled verticals. This expansion significantly enhances the company’s competitive position.
First-Party Data and Audience Scale
The merged entity possesses unparalleled scale in first-party B2B data and audience reach. Informa TechTarget will have a total B2B audience of approximately 50 million professionals, delivering powerful intent data for actionable targeting and demand generation solutions. Gary Nugent, former CEO of Informa Tech, serves as the new CEO of Informa TechTarget. The combination unites complementary portfolios, including TechTarget’s Priority Engine buyer intent platform and BrightTALK video content marketing platform with Informa’s proprietary research and specialist media brands.
Trading commenced on December 3, 2024, under the ticker symbol “TTGT” on the Nasdaq Global Select Market, marking the official beginning of operations for the newly combined entity.
